KEB America releases F6-K VFD for the North American market

SHAKOPEE, MN – KEB America, Inc. announced today that its single-axis F6-K EtherCAT VFD platform has been released for sale to the North American market.

The F6-K drive offers on-board EtherCAT/VARAN and CAN communication. The bus cycle time has been lowered to 125µs, an 8x improvement over the previous generation. Additionally, the F6-K carries SIL3 rated dual-channel STO (Safe-Torque-Off) functionality which is included standard.

The F6-K has increased the number of analog inputs to 3, making it ideal for internally regulating more complex processes (e.g. hydraulic pump servo motor). The F6-K drive can run a wide variety of motor types (induction, permanent magnet, linear) with various control schemes. As standard, the F6 platform also incorporates a dual-channel universal encoder interface that supports incremental, resolver, and absolute encoder types.

“The F6-K drive is the ideal inverter for applications using EtherCAT communication and requiring STO functionality,” said Jonathan Bullick, marketing manager at KEB America. “With a range up to 900Hp, the F6-K is well suited for high-performance VFD applications running either induction or PM motors.”

For the North American market, the F6-K is manufactured and supported by KEB America’s headquarters in Minnesota.
