KEB America Brings Single-Cable Efficiency to Servo Drives and Motors

One Cable Technology drive package reduces wiring, engineering effort, and control cabinet space for machine builders

Shakopee, Minnesota, August 19, 2026 – KEB America, Inc., part of the KEB Group and the North American provider of industrial automation solutions, today announces that its S6 servo drives and F6 variable frequency drives (VFDs) are now available as a One Cable Technology (OCT) system solution. OCT transmits power and encoder signals through a single motor cable, eliminating the need for a separate encoder cable and simplifying the connection between drive and motor.

The OCT solution pairs KEB S6 and F6 drives with matching servo motors from the TA and Dynamic Line series, plus OCT motor cables available in lengths up to 50 meters. Together, these components form a complete drive, inverter, motor, encoder and cable package.

“OCT offers a lot of benefits, especially for multi-axis machines where cabinet space is limited,” said Jonathan Bullick, national sales manager at KEB America, Inc. “With KEB, customers get a tested drive, motor, and cable package from one source, with a single point of contact for North American support and accountability for the whole system.”

The KEB one cable technology system solution includes its S6 servo drives (0.75 kW to 7.5 kW, frame size 2 and 4) and F6 VFDs (2.2 kW to 37 kW, frame size 2 and 3), both equipped with the PRO control board and Safety Module 5. It also includes KEB’s TA series servo motors (TA1 through TA6) with M23 and M40 connectors and EN12 multiturn encoders, as well as its DL3 servo motors with M15 and M23 connectors. OCT motor cables are available in 1.5 mm², 2.5 mm², and 4.0 mm² cross-sections, with M15, M23, and M40 motor connectors.

Key Benefits for Manufacturers

· Simplified wiring. Power and encoder signals travel over a single motor cable, cutting the number of connections needed on the motor and in the control cabinet.

· Smaller footprint and faster installation. Fewer cables mean less time spent routing, terminating, and troubleshooting connections. It also frees up space in the control cabinet and on the machine itself.

· Higher machine availability. Fewer plug connections mean fewer potential points of failure. Using a single motor cable in place of separate power and encoder cables halves the drag chain length and reduces potential failure points during cabling.

· Lower total cost of ownership. Reduced material costs, simplified inventory management, and faster service and troubleshooting all contribute to greater efficiency across the machine build.

The OCT system solution for KEB’s S6 and F6 drives is available for specification. To explore application requirements or request technical specifications, consult with a KEB application engineer.
