Motion Control

KEB offers a range of motion control components. Utilize the Combivis Studio software, a powerful integrated development environment (IDE), to create and optimize complex motion control projects.

KEB provides EtherNet/IP solutions that cater to every level of the automation pyramid, including HMIs, motion control, and drives.

For applications requiring low cycle times, KEB offers EtherCAT controls, servo motors, and more. The EtherCAT protocol is ideal for achieving real-time data transfer in motion applications. KEB’s solutions incorporate Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE), control loops with a 62-microsecond update rate, and a multi-format encoder interface, ensuring precise motor control for your motion control projects.

Safe Motion Drives

The S6 is a compact, high-performance servo drive for dynamic packaging applications requiring rapid acceleration and precise position control, such as high-speed rotary cutters, indexing conveyors, and robotic pick-and-place systems. The drive is designed with a 250% current overload capacity and includes an internal positioning module for decentralized position control.

 
The S6 seamlessly integrates into modern PLC control architectures and comes equipped with several standard features, including Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE), SIL3 Safe Torque Off (STO) inputs, a dual encoder interface, an internal brake transistor, and integrated brake control with a power supply.

One Cable Technology

Our One Cable Technology (OCT) merges power and feedback signals into a single cable, drastically reducing wiring complexity and installation time for packaging machinery OEMs. By eliminating secondary cables and connectors, OCT saves valuable cabinet space, reduces potential failure points, and lowers overall material and assembly costs.

Servo Motors and Integral Gearmotors

The S6 Servo Drive is a versatile tool, capable of running induction motors, AC servo motors, synchronous reluctance motors, and linear motors with a variety of communication protocols (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, ProfiNet, Powerlink, and VARAN).

 
AC synchronous servo motors from KEB offer dynamic control for cycling and positioning and are now available with our STEEL IT epoxy coating for washdown applications.

SCL Positioning

Encoderless positioning is possible. We make it happen with SCL Posi™, a unique technology that benefits washdown applications with long encoder runs.
