HUMAN RESOURCES – Human Resource Assistant

Job Description

The Human Resource Assistant/Generalist is responsible for providing support in areas including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, employment law compliance, payroll administration, and benefits administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, and coordinate with staffing agencies
  • Attend career fairs
  • Conduct new hire orientation and benefit orientation
  • Create and update job descriptions
  • Implement HR policies and procedures
  • Address employee concerns
  • Help with benefit administration duties, including annual open enrollment and new hire enrollment
  • Provide backup support on employee policy and procedures
  • Conduct exit reviews as needed and process termination paperwork
  • Provide additional administrative support to the administrative department
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

 

Qualification Requirements:

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or
  • Equivalent experience in HR or related field

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment laws
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  • Use of  payroll software
  • Ability to maintain confidentially
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
  • Ability to utilize standard office equipment (e.g. computers, phones, filing cabinets, copiers, and fax machines)
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with others on a variety of projects
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Have attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately follow work instructions
  • Ability to proficiently read and write in English
  • Ability to follow all safety rules
  • Ability to exercise judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations

Working conditions: Office environment & occasional production environment
