PRODUCTION: Product Compliance Specialist

Job Description

KEB America, Inc. is currently seeking a new role as a Product Compliance Specialist for our Quality Department. KEB is located in Shakopee, MN.

The product compliance specialist will carry out various product certification and regulatory compliance tasks. This position will serve as the primary contact to various third-party regulatory agencies, interfacing with them during projects, audits, and follow-up work. This role will maintain certification reports and information relating to product compliance. Within this role, interface transactions will be with other employees in the operations, engineering, and sales departments as compliance-related inquiries develop.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, review and manage compliance projects
  • Maintain certifications for current standards such as RoHS, REACH, etc. relating to products, contacting suppliers for information when necessary
  • Represent the organization in communications and audits involving third-party regulatory agencies such as UL, CSA, etc.
  • Interface with customers by addressing compliance-related inquiries
  • Work with operations, engineering, and sales personnel within the company on compliance-related projects
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of compliance standards, regulations, and best practices

 

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates, BA/BS degree

  • Basic operational knowledge of test and measurement equipment
  • Ability to think analytically
  • Ability to make complex decisions

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow safety rules

 

Specific Technical Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend product standards and to further be able to clearly communicate the requirements to other team members
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics, technical drawings, block diagrams, bills of material, and other detailed technical documentation*
  • Understanding of SAP ERP* system and Redmine* project management system

*Some of these skills will be acquired as a result of the training program at KEB
 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Time will be spent in an office, production, and quality lab environments
  • Must be able to clearly see and hear instructions or safety information from co-workers
  • Office environment
  • High technology manufacturing environment. The manufacturing area uses materials such as steel, aluminum, epoxy, adhesive, lubricants, solder, paint, etc. Appropriate PPE is provided for dealing with any material
  • Quality Assurance laboratory environment
