PRODUCTION: Receiving Clerk- Material Handling ($1,500 Sign-on Bonus)

Job Description

The material handling Receiving clerk is responsible for receiving all incoming freight and cutting bar stock for the machine department. The role will also back up shipping duties such as shipping using UPD and LTL carriers and preparing pallets for shipment.

$1,500 sign-on bonus:  $750 to be paid at 6 months. $750 to be paid at 1 Year.  Non-agency, direct-hire candidates are eligible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive all incoming freight using our SAP software
  • Sort, grade, weigh and inspect product
  • Operate forklift to move materials
  • Cut bar stock
  • Cycle counting
  • Follow safety rules and keep clean/orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned


Shipping duties performed when needed

  • Create bill of lading
  • Ship packages domestic and international
  • Prepare skids for shipment


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cut bar stock
  • Maintain grease points on saw
  • Fill and change coolant tank
  • Change saw blades
  • Clean saw auger
  • Assist in shipping/ receiving and stocking when necessary
  • Follow safety rules and keep a clean/orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills ( ERP experience is a plus)
  • Basic math skills (standard and metric)
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to follow work instructions accurately
  • Ability to do accurate work at a rapid pace
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with others
  • Have attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to proficiently read and write in English
  • Ability to follow all safety rules
  • Knowledge of packing, shipping, and receiving methods


Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 30-40lbs frequently
  • Ability to be on feet standing 80% of shift
  • Ability to walk, lift, climb ladders, push, pull, and sit as needed
