The Panel SL is 48mm – 65mm in-depth, and the Box SL is 35mm in depth.

RUGGED DESIGN
Industrial PCs from KEB America are designed to work in industrial environments. A fanless design that limits moving parts and IP66 protection (panel and box) make the IPCs well-suited for installation on the factory floor.

Like our HMI, the Panel IPCs come in capacitive touch for precise movements like pinching and scrolling, or resistive touch for use with a glove or stylus.

PROCESSING POWER
Each model of the E22 IPC comes with an Intel® Bay Trail platform – 64-bit architecture, Celeron® J1900 2Ghz (2,41 GHz burst frequency), 4 cores, 4 threads

Why Use Industrial PCs?

Industrial PCs are compact and high-precision computers for industrial applications. Functionally, they work just like consumer PCs. However, industrial PCs often have higher memory capacity, computing power, and more durable parts to ensure reliable performance. Use cases for IPCs include factories, refineries, labs, water treatment plants, and packaging facilities.

Industrial work environments are demanding and expose computers to adverse conditions, from airborne dust to high temperatures. Industrial PCs are built to resist these environmental factors, utilizing fanless, ventless designs to maximize efficiency and minimize the risk of parts failing. Indeed, this is how IPCs can perform in the field with minimal maintenance.

Flexibility is a crucial advantage for industrial PCs. These computers are available in multiple configurations to accommodate even the most challenging applications. Remote connectivity allows users to monitor IPCs across the plant floor or in the field without expensive, time-consuming trips. This versatility helps customers achieve greater efficiency, enable more productive workflows, and control risk in any industrial application.

Choosing an IPC for Your Industrial Application

There are many important factors to consider when choosing an industrial PC. Here are some general guidelines to help get you started:

Environment plays a key role in IPC selection. Work environments exposed to dust, debris, shocks, vibration, or high temps will require a more rugged PC with protective features. For example, a factory floor will benefit from IPCs that limit the number of moving parts in the system. KEB’s C6 E22 industrial touchscreen panel PC pairs a fanless design with IP66 protection, making it an ideal choice for factory applications.

Performance is another important consideration when picking an IPC or industrial PC panel. Your computer needs the appropriate processing power to handle required tasks and workloads. This is a delicate balance: too much power creates unneeded costs and waste—while too little results in performance failures and downtime. For instance, you may focus on a great industrial computer display to improve data visualization, only to be hit with workflow interruptions due to insufficient processing power.

These are just a few elements you’ll need to consider when selecting an IPC. For the best results, we recommend connecting with a KEB solutions engineer.
