Product Details

KEB’s Safety I/O are FSoE slave devices. They communicate via FSoE which is independently certified by TÜV SÜD to a SIL3 level.

KEB’s Safety I/O has been independently certified by TÜV Rheinland to a SIL3/PLe level.

FSoE slaves can be distributed and are connected with standard network cables. This offers the possibility to replace the discrete safety wiring with networked safety.

KEB’s Safety products are programmed in a certified Safety Editor with Function Block Diagram (FBD). The safety programming is done in COMBIVIS Studio 6, allowing complete machine control to be handled in one IDE.

Certified Safety

FSoE (fail-safe over EtherCAT)
• Certified safety protocol for reliable and secure data communication within EtherCAT networks

IEC 61508 SIL3
• FSoE has a high level of safety and is designed to easily detect errors across transmissions

cULus
• Meets specific safety standards within the United States and Canada

Safety PLC vs. Safety IO

FSoE Safety PLC (the controller)

• Communicates with the IO modules through FSoE to deliver instructions.
• Runs the safety program and makes important decisions.

FSoE Safety IO (the operator)

• Handles safety-related tasks and reads signals given by the PLC control and carries them out to completion.
• Can be integrated into an existing EtherCAT structure.
