Safe and High Performance

Functional Safety

KEB drives have been developed with Functional Safety in mind. Onboard STO and Safe Motion functions are TUV certified to a PLe (SIL3) level. This allows the woodworking machines to operate safely with high throughput. Networked FSoE options reduce discrete wiring and increase the availability of drive diagnostics.

FSoE Safety Master

KEB’s FSoE Safety PLC is a versatile, SIL3/PLe-certified safety control. This scalable solution supports up to 65,535 addressable slaves per master—and houses the main and safe control on the same bus. The FSoE is TÜV Rheinland approved and sets a new quality standard for Safety PLC technology.

Functional Safety (FS) Drives

FS enables safe machine control and seamless safety communications between the drive and the programmable logic controller (PLC). Our innovative drive-based safety technology allows for less wiring, faster power cycles, and optimal response times by allowing offload safety handling from the safety PLC to individual drives.

Communication Options

KEB drives offer OEMs complete flexibility. The S6 Servo Drive and F6 VFD support EtherCAT, ProfiNet, EtherNet/IP, Powerlink, and Modbus TCP from one common hardware platform. KEB also offers certified safety fieldbuses like FSoE (Failsafe over EtherCAT) and PROFIsafe.
